1 Minute in Norway
When I left Croatia, I flew from Dubrovnik to Oslo
It was a three hour flight, with a layover, going to Budapest the following morning. I got to my hostel in Oslo at 6pm and decided to walk around and go to the one neighborhood I knew was supposed to be the coolest one. The temperature was around 40, and it felt much colder because of the wind. The best thing for me about Oslo was that I received good news there, so it will always have a happy place in my heart because of that☺️
My hostel was by the train station in the center of town (Sentrum), and the neighborhood that I walked to was Grunerlokka. Gentrified! I walked around for a few hours, checked out a couple places, had some lattes, then went back to the hostel. Limited view of Oslo, but from what I saw it was kind of boring. Maybe I missed the best stuff. I liked my hostel, even though I would consider it the YMCA-of-hostels (decor) and also the puppy-mill-of-hostels (crankin’ ’em through).
The other nice thing about Oslo, in my observations? Leggy Blonde Scandanavian dudes (with their hair down to their legs and their legs down to the floor).
I would give Oslo another shot if I had a reason to go, but other than that, I don’t see myself vacationing there… other parts of Norway / Scandanavia for hiking and being outside in the summer is appealing though! (and also to do a Conan O’Brien tour of Finland).
