Bye Siem Reap (for now)

Siem Reap touring

I hired a driver and we did a day trip to a few places outside of Siem Reap – Kbal Spean (aka: River of 1000 Lingas) and Banteay Srei.

River of 1000 Lingas was a really good hike, pretty scenery and about 1.5 mile up-up-up. The Kbal Spean itself was kind of a letdown, but I was okay with that because the hike was really fun.

Banteay Srei is cool because of all the detail you can still see in the carved red sandstone. It was built sometime in the 900’s. Because of the colors and the ornate carvings that are so well-preserved, this was my favorite Angkor temple.

I’m so mad at myself because I can’t remember what these ruins are called. Chances are, I never knew because I didn’t really understand what the guide was saying. But they were cool😁 Scary, steep, narrow steps.

I bought these two beautiful pashminas, made in Cambodia, for $4 each❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Elephants are on everything…. which is a problem because it’s my favorite animal, and it means I want to buy everything. But I’m holding back. For now!
